Ireland Plans Aid Package for Gaza Reconstruction
Simon Harris, Ireland's Minister for Foreign Affairs, is anticipated to brief the Cabinet on ongoing plans to assemble a significant aid initiative aimed at supporting Gaza.
This development comes after Ireland opted to become part of the Emergency Coalition for the Financial Sustainability of the Palestinian Authority.
In addition, the news agency noted that Harris will disclose details of a shipment containing 1,500 tents destined for Gaza, with half of them—750 tents—coming directly from Ireland’s humanitarian reserves.
Earlier, the Irish government declared a further €6 million ($7 million) in emergency assistance for Gaza’s residents.
With this new pledge, Ireland’s overall humanitarian support for the region since 2023 has now surpassed €100 million ($115 million).
